Lange Voorhout Drawings 2010

Nimbus, Den Haag

11 September – 3 October 2010

“A sense of permanence and transience permeate the work of South African artist Wilma van der Meyden. Being temporary residents in a place has become a way of life for her and her family who moved from Australia to The Hague in 2008.  The works on display have been inspired by the Lange Voorhout, which has undergone an amazing surge of temporary and permanent change during the past two years. The Lange Voorhout, being round the corner from where Wilma resides on the Willemstraat, forms part of her daily context. Also on the Willemstraat and itself transient, the Nimbus Gallery is a uniquely fitting venue to exhibit this body of work.” Henk Oonk, 2010
